ARE YOU A PARADRAGON ATHLETE OR SUPPORTER?
Who is a Paradragon athlete? This is a term used by the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) to describe paddlers who have some form of physical, psychological, neurological, sensory, developmental or intellectual impairment. The impairment may be minor or severe – there is no minimum threshold, and the sport tries to accommodate those with even the most challenging impairment.
Who are Paradragon Supporters? These are able-bodied dragon boat paddlers willing to paddle with and possibly assist Paradragon paddlers. The PD2 division allows for half the team to be supporters and half (or more) to be Paradragons. In addition, supporters who do not wish to paddle can assist in other ways, such as providing organizational skills and fund raising assistance.
This survey will help us determine which type of Paradragon paddler you may be and give us an opportunity to reach out to you with more information.
